      Graphene is a very thin layer of carbon, it should be only 1 atomic layer thick. So is an atomic layer of carbon. As such it can be found in lots of places, coal is a form of carbon.

      The difficulty is obtaining a pure source of carbon and also in removing such a thin layer.
