I don’t really work with animals in my job. We mostly use human cancer cells or other cell types as our experimental models.
What I least like about my job is the endless paperwork (as a lecturer), and how hard it is to get funding to continue to do the since we do (as a scientist).
I don’t really work with animals either. Some people I collaborate with do. I am not sure how I’d feel if I was doing it myself but I think it is very important to science and has helped us understand a lot of new things. We always try to treat animals in labs in the best possible way!
What I like the least about my work is the need and difficulty to get new funding every few years (like Isabel said). It takes a lot of time to write applications for more research money and they are sadly very hard to get too.
