A lot of my family did science or related subjects. My parents and brothers are engineers, and I have an auntie who is a mathematician and a cousin who is a scientist. I also have cousins who studied art, music and languages. One of my cousins actually studied computer science and art together! You’d be surprised how many things art and science have in common and how much we need each other to progress! Of course what our family members do can inspire us but I think all possibilities are open to a person independently of what their family does 🙂

Actually, I am the only one! The majority of people in my family are either teachers, or have done studies in the humanities, like journalism, sociology and international studies. I guess the closes one to a scientist is my mum. She studied maths at Uni and now works as an IT manger at the local Hospital in my home worn ion Portugal.

However, whatever they did or do, they have always supported me during my career 🙂
