Getting to be curious and ask questions all the time, and being the person that knows more about that bit of the universe than anyone else 🙂

For me the best part is the freedom to think! Our work is centred around bringing better understanding about the world around us (and hopefully knowledge!). I feel free to ask questions and find my own way of answering it which I think is very creative, challenging and fun. Of course sometimes you get stuck and fun turns into frustration a little bit but this is also an important process to push through in order to solve problems and find the way to ask the best questions.

Also, I want to be honest in that there are also challenges in our work and independence also gives you a lot of responsibility. But it is certainly so rewarding that it’s worth it : )

I definitely agree with Zena that being able to have the freedom and independence to think and be creative AND get paid to do that at the same time is very special. Of course lots of people get to be creative in their lives in many ways, but I think that this is encouraged a lot more without the fear of failure when you are a scientist.

Like Frank and Zena I think the fact that we have a lot of freedom to try new ideas and ask lots of interesting questions. Sometimes were even able to answer some of them
