Lets see, I think the first important equation I used is an equation known as “the diffusion equation”. This is an important equation and it can describe the way in which chemicals spread in space over time. I am using this equation to study the way cells talk to each other — did you know cells can do that? Cells communicate with each other using chemical signals! To understand how cells can do that we need to understand how they send these signals to each other and how the signals they send behave. Coming up with the right equations to describe this has helped me understand the language of the cells a littler bit better 🙂
